Everybody should accept verdict, peace, harmony should be maintained: Joshi

New Delhi [India], Nov 9 (ANI): Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Saturday said that everybody should accept the Supreme Court's verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute case and urged all to maintain peace and harmony.
"Everybody should accept the verdict... Peace and harmony should be maintained in the country... I believe that all should accept it and move ahead towards 'New India'," Joshi said here.
While talking to ANI, Joshi said that the top court's verdict should be complied with at the earliest. "This verdict gives us a message on how to move forward," he said.
Joshi went on to add that the Supreme Court dealt with this issue as a land dispute case.
"As the former president of the BJP, I also had the privilege to be a part of this movement regarding the construction of Ram temple. It is a happy moment. I appeal to all the citizens to see this verdict in the right direction," Joshi said.
The Supreme Court on Saturday directed the Centre to give five acres of suitable land to Sunni Waqf Board and at the same time make necessary arrangements for the construction of the temple by forming a trust.
"Central government shall form in three to four months a scheme for setting up of a trust. They shall make necessary arrangements for the management of trust and construction of the temple," Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said while reading out the verdict.
A five-judge constitution bench presided by Chief Justice Gogoi and comprising Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer passed the order on a bunch of petitions against an order of the Allahabad High Court which trifurcated the site between the parties -- Ramlalla Virajman, Sunni Central Waqf Board and Nirmohi Akhara.
A decade-long legal dispute was fought by right-wing party Hindu Mahasabha, a sect of Hindu monks Nirmohi Akhara and Muslim Waqf Board over 2.77 acres of land in Ayodhya. (ANI)
