New Delhi [India], September 8 (ANI): NDA vice presidential candidate and Maharashtra governor CP Radhakrishnan reacted to the Opposition's Vice Presidential Candidate B Sudershan Reddy's statement that 'everyone should vote in the national interest', on Monday.
Responding to the statement, CP Radhakrishnan, while speaking to reporters, said that "Everybody is taking interest only in the nation."
Meanwhile, a day before the vice presidential election, CP Radhakrishnan attended the Janata Dal (United) parliamentary party, which took place at the residence of party MP from Nalanda, Kaushalendra Kumar.
Earlier, ahead of the upcoming Vice Presidential elections, which will take place on September 9, the Opposition's candidate, B. Sudershan Reddy, stated that he is "100% sure" of winning the elections.
Speaking to ANI in Guwahati, Reddy said, "I am 100% sure of winning this election. I have been receiving tremendous response wherever I go."
However, Sudershan Reddy stated that this election is not a battle but a clash of ideologies, emphasising that he disagrees with the ideology, not CP Radhakrishnan as an individual.
"This is not a battle; it is a clash of ideas... The other side was propagating that there is a person here who has been a full member of the RSS all his life, so I disagree with that ideology, not with CP Radhakrishnan," Reddy told ANI.
He added that he wants this to be a decent contest. "There is nothing personal between CP Radhakrishnan and me. We have never even met each other. So I wanted this to be a decent contest, not between individuals but between two different ideologies."
Meanwhile, commenting on the upcoming Vice Presidential elections, Congress MP Manickam Tagore claimed that the vice president election is forced on the nation on Monday.
Speaking to ANI, Tagore also claimed that the former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was forced to resign. "This Vice President election is forced on the nation. We don't know why Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned. He was forced to resign. Suddenly, the election came into the picture..."
Talking about the opposition's candidate Sudershan Reddy, Manickam Tagore said that "Justice Sudershan Reddy is the joint opposition's candidate. The other opposition parties, particularly BJD, BRS, and YSRCP, must support him. We will be able to know who is really helping the BJP or whether they are standing with the Constitution." (ANI).
