Patna (Bihar) [India], July 17 (ANI): Stressing that the law and order in the state is up to the mark, Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar emphasised that every single incident is being investigated and the government is fully focused on ensuring such incidents do not happen again.
Speaking to the media, Kumar said, "Every single incident is being investigated. The government is fully focused on ensuring such incidents do not happen again... We request those who are only raising questions to suggest ways to bring peace and harmony among people."
The Bihar Minister further asserted that the NDA alliance will win 225 seats and again form the government under Nitish Kumar's leadership.
"In 2025, we will win 225 seats and form the government again under Nitish Kumar's leadership. Before the elections, we will also provide 12 lakh jobs and employment to 38 lakh people," Sharavan Kumar said.
The law and order issue in Bihar has taken centre stage with the assembly elections scheduled to be held later this year.
Earlier, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India took suo motu cognisance of a media report regarding the alleged murder and burning of five members of a Scheduled Tribe family in Purnia district, Bihar, on the night of July 6.
The incident reportedly occurred due to accusations of witchcraft.
The NHRC has raised serious concerns over potential human rights violations and issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Bihar.
The Commission has sought a detailed report within two weeks, encompassing the current status of the investigation and any actions taken against those responsible.
In addition, the Commission has urged the State Government to ensure the safety and psychological support of the sole survivor, a 16-year-old boy who witnessed the incident and lost his entire family. (ANI)
