Patna (Bihar) [India], October 23 (ANI): Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday stated that every section of society will be given equal representation if the Mahagathbandhan government is formed in Bihar.
This comes after he was asked about the possibility of Congress nominating a Deputy CM candidate from its ranks. Earlier on Thursday, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Vikassheel Insaan Party convenor Mukesh Sahani were named the CM and Deputy CM nominees by the Mahagathbandhan.
Khera also asked about the CM face of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), questioning why they did not hold a joint press conference like the Mahagathbandhan did.
"Every section of society will definitely get representation, and appropriate representation will be given. Let us first register the victory. All parties (of the Mahagathbandhan) have released their lists, but has the NDA held any joint press conference or have they shown their chief ministerial face?" Pawan Khera questioned.
Congress leader TS Singh Deo also echoed that there is no confusion within the Mahagathbandhan after Tejashwi Yadav was announced as the CM face of the alliance.
"Now doubts have been cleared that there is no confusion in the Mahagathbandhan," Deo told ANI.
Meanwhile, as per the sources, the Mahagathbandhan is scheduled to release its joint manifesto on October 28 for the Bihar elections.
Sources said that Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will also begin their campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections on October 28, after the Chhath Puja festival.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will address joint rallies before the first phase of voting and, after that, for the seats in the second phase of voting, they added.
The 2025 Bihar elections will have the main contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
The Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
