"Even under GRAP-IV, brick plant is operating in Kondli," claims AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj

Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj shared a video that punctured the BJP government's claims of strict enforcement under GRAP-IV, showing a brick plant operating inside the Delhi government-run Kondli STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and spewing thick smoke despite the ban.

New Delhi [India], December 22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj shared a video alleging that despite the BJP government's claims of strict enforcement under GRAP-IV, a brick plant was operating inside the Delhi government-run Kondli STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and spewing thick smoke.
AAP claims, that the video followed an on-ground inspection by Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar, who visited the site recently.
Sharing the video on X, AAP Delhi Unit Chief Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged, "Watch the smoke billowing from a brick plant operating inside the Kondli STP under the BJP government in Delhi, even during GRAP-IV. Is the government and its ministers busy only with PR and 'nautanki' (theatrics)? Is the entire responsibility of protecting Delhi's people and air meant only for citizens and the opposition?"
Meanwhile, after inspecting the brick plant operating inside the Delhi Jal Board's (DJB) premises, Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar claimed that an SSP Private Limited sludge management plant is functioning on the site.
Kuldeep Kumar alleged, "GRAP-IV restrictions are applicable across the city, yet rules are being openly violated at this location. I reprimanded the staff present on site and instructed them to shut the plant down immediately."
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Majinder Singh Sirsa on Monday said strict enforcement measures under GRAP-IV have yielded positive results, even as the national capital continues to reel under adverse weather conditions due to a western disturbance.
Addressing a press conference, Sirsa said the weather in Delhi has remained "very bad" over the past few days, prompting the government to impose stringent restrictions.
"For the last four days, restrictions under GRAP-IV have been in place and we have seen good results," he said.
Warning polluting industries, Sirsa said that sealing action has begun against identified violators.
"The polluting factories we have identified will be sealed without any further notice. They have already been given several chances," he said. He added that industries which failed to apply for OCEM by the October 31 deadline would also face immediate sealing.
The minister informed that a massive drive is underway to check vehicular pollution. (ANI)
