E-Rakam facilitates online agricultural business for farmers
New Delhi [India], Aug 1 (ANI): Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan and Minister of Steel, Government of India, Birender Singh on Tuesday launched the online portal e-Rakam in the national capital to facilitate farmers in their agricultural businesses. E-Rakam is an online platform for agriculture based products introduced in joint collaboration with the MSTC (Metal Scrap Trade Corporation) and CRWC (Central Railside Warehouse Co. Ltd) to empower Indian farmers for agricultural business. It is a digital initiative bringing together the farmers, FPOs, PSUs, Civil supplies and buyers on a single platform to ease the selling and buying process of agricultural products. Under this programme, e-Rakam centers have been developed in a phased manner throughout the country to facilitate farmers for online sale of their produce. Bidders, on the other hand, would be able to buy quality agricultural products without the intervention of intermediaries. The prime objective of e-Rakam is to assist farmers with payment directly into their bank accounts without any intermediaries. (ANI)
