"Double engine govt incapable of providing security": Kejriwal slams BJP over attack on Saif Ali Khan

"News is coming that criminals are running their rule from the jail of Gujarat... They have no fear. It seems that they have security... Every day they (BJP) say that they are not able to protect the Indo-Bangladesh border. If they are not able to do it, then they should resign... They are neither protecting the celebrities nor the borders nor the capital Delhi. Every other day, traders are getting ransom calls, every day 17 children are going missing. The double-engine government can neither provide good governance nor security to the people..." he added.

AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi [India], January 16 (ANI): The battle for Delhi Assembly Polls has intensified. On Thursday Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led Central and Maharashtra government, citing that the party's double engine government is incapable of providing security to the nation.
This follows the recent attack on a Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence when the accused entered his house with a motive to attempt robbery and in the course of action, he attacked the actor.
Sharpening his attack, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP-led Central government is neither protecting the celebrities nor the borders nor the national capital Delhi, alleging that the crime rate has been increasing in the national capital.
The former CM claimed that the double-engine government can neither provide good governance nor security to the people.
Addressing a press conference, the former Delhi Chief Minister targeted the BJP and said if their double-engine government cannot provide security to such big celebrities, then how will they provide it to common people?
Kejriwal said, "This morning we got the shocking news that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by unknown people. He is currently undergoing treatment. I pray that he gets well soon but it is a matter of concern that such a big actor who lives in such a safe place is attacked in his house in this manner, this raises questions on the state and central government. Earlier Salman Khan was attacked; Baba Siddiqui was killed. If the BJP's double-engine government cannot provide security to such big celebrities, then what about the common people?..."
He strongly condemned the attack on the Bollywood actor.
Taking a dig at the Centre, the AAP chief said that the government should stop their "dirty politics" and starting working for the welfare of the people.
Kejriwal stated, "We strongly condemn the attack on Saif Ali Khan and appeal to the Centre to stop dirty politics and work... You are incapable of providing security.... Start working, stop dirty politics..."
The shocking incident unfolded at Saif Ali Khan's residence in the 'Satguru Sharan' building in Bandra, after an intruder allegedly confronted Khan's maid. When Saif attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, the confrontation turned physical. The actor sustained injuries during the scuffle and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8. (ANI)
