Putalapattu (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Mar 13 (ANI): Appearing distraught after failing to meet YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, its MLA Sunil Kumar in a selfie video indicated that he would quit politics if he doesn't get second chance to contest upcoming Assembly elections due on April 11.
An MLA from Putalapattu (SC) Assembly constituency, Kumar tried to control his emotions in the video while thanking the party cadres and leaders for their support.
Stating that he "may or may not" get the ticket this time, Kumar said that he wished to help poor and needy people if his party came to power in the state. "It would have been very nice if I could help at least some people before leaving politics, but God did not give me chance. I don’t know whether I will get a second chance. I thank all of you for your support all these days,” said Kumar.
On Tuesday, Kumar went to Hyderabad to meet Reddy in the wake of reports that he would not get a party ticket to contest in assembly elections. However, he was not allowed to meet the party chief. His political guru P Ramachandra Reddy was also there but did not speak to him while he waited along with his family for over three years.
Humiliated, Sunil addressed party cadres and well-wishers of Putalapattu constituency in the video saying, “I was a political novice in 2014. But people gave me a chance with their affection for Jaganmohan Reddy. All these five years, I tried to do good for all of you. I always kept in mind that my political gurus should not be blamed because of me. I tried to keep the respect for Jagan high in the minds of the public. In case I did any mistakes, please forgive me. To the best of my knowledge, I did not commit any mistake, but there may be some communication gap. But I’m crazy for Jaganmohan Reddy and YSRCP.” (ANI)
