Don't hesitate to put across your point of view before ministers: Rajnath to IAS officers

New Delhi, Oct. 19 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday called upon IAS officers of the 2014 Batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre to always uphold their reputation and credibility. Asking them to bear empathy for the last man in the queue, the Home Minister said, "The IAS officers shoulder big responsibility in the district and must win the trust of the common people without hurting their feelings." Recalling his tenure as the Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Singh asked the IAS Officers "not to hesitate to put across their point of view before the ministers in case of difference of opinion". About 35 IAS officers of the 2014 Batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre as well as officers, who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh and are currently posted in various ministries/departments as assistant secretaries, participated in an interactive session with 11 Union Ministers led by the Home Minister here today. Interacting with the officers, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said, "The IAS officer being the steward of administration in the district should always show concern to the interests of poor people." Parrikar asked them to show sensitivity to issues of the Armed Forces personnel and Ex-Servicemen. Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said, "As District Magistrates, the IAS officers should show a sense of compassion and kindness to resolve the problems of the common man." Other Ministers, who participated in the interactive session, included Minister of State (MoS) for Tourism (Independent Charge) and Culture Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MoS for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, MoS (External Affairs) General (Retd.) V.K. Singh, MoS (Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation) Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, MoS (Food Processing Industries) Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, MoS (HRD) Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, MoS (Women and Child Development) Krishna Raj and MoS (Health and Family Welfare) Anupriya Patel.
