Don't damage law and order for political gains: BJP cautions BSP
New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday advised the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) not to politicize expelled party leader Dayashankar Singh's slur on former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati and said that mere protests on this issue would not make any impact on next year's state assembly polls. Speaking to ANI, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Mourya said there is no point of now staging protests now as Dayashankar has already been removed from the party for six years. "The BJP expects BSP not to damage the prevailing law and order situation in the state," he said. Justifying his assertion, the state BJP chief said there will be no effect of this incident on the upcoming elections as the people of the state are aware of the fact that Mayawati indulges in corrupt practices for political gains. "Everyone knows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the one who is continuously working for the poor across the country," he said. "If Mayawati would have worked even 10 percent of what the ruling dispensation is currently doing for the Dalits and the SC/STs during her tenure then their condition would not have deteriorated to such a level," he added. Enraged with Dayashankar's derogatory remark against Mayawati, the BSP workers are staging a protest across the country, demanding the arrest of suspended BJP state vice-president. The protests are being held at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi, the Hazratganj area in Lucknow, Chandigarh and several other cities of the country where the BSP has a strong political backing. (ANI)
