Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 25 (ANI): Telangana Jagruthi chief K Kavitha on Thursday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making unsavoury remarks against the opposition while failing to fulfil promises made to the public. She said the Chief Minister had done nothing for the people and was blatantly lying to them.
Speaking to ANI, Kavitha said the Chief Minister had promised financial assistance and welfare measures but had failed to deliver on them.
"CM Reddy has been criticising the opposition party with very unsavoury remarks. He is not doing anything for the people and should deliver on his promises. He promised to provide Rs 2,500 to women above 18 years of age, distribute scooties, and increase pensions, but he is doing nothing and is blatantly lying to the people," the Telangana Jagruthi chief said.
Her remarks came after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, accusing him of causing "irreparable damage" to Telangana, particularly on issues related to Krishna River water sharing and stalled irrigation projects.
Speaking to ANI, Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR had made "reckless statements" and said Mahabubnagar district had given him his political life. He said the Telangana movement was built on the demand for a fair share of Krishna River water, but claimed that KCR had compromised the state's interests during his tenure.
"KCR did more injustice to Telangana than what happened in the United States. There was a massive water loot under his reign. By signing for a 299 TMC share in Krishna waters, KCR wrote a 'death warrant' for Telangana. He permanently signed away our rights over Krishna waters to Andhra Pradesh, severely affecting three districts," the Chief Minister said. (ANI)
