"DMK, INDI alliance run like private family companies", BJP criticises Udhayanidhi Stalin's elevation

New Delhi [India], September 29 (ANI): BJP national spokesperson Shezad Poonawalla hit out at the INDIA bloc on Sunday, claiming that the parties follow a "son rise model" by only making their sons or daughters get in positions of power to serve their family interests.
Multiple other BJP leaders criticised the elevation of Udhayanidhi Stalin as the deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu, saying that such a decision exposes the 'parivarvad' and the dynastic politics of the INDI alliance parties.
BJP national spokesperson Shezad Poonawala spoke to ANI and said it has been proven that parties like DMK are not political parties, but instead private limited family run companies.
"It has been proven that DMK and INDI alliance parties are not political parties but private limited family run companies. That is why first grandfather, then father, then grandson are given power. This is the 'son rise' model. Lalu wants Tejashwi has a son rise, Mulayam wants Akhilesh's son rise, Sonia sants Rahul's son rise, Sharad Pawar wants Supriya's daughter rise. But with the rise of these sons and daughters, the party is undergoing sunset. That only PM Modi cares about because he puts nations first," he said.
"The INDI alliance parties put family first. They don't care about the sons and daughters of India. Only PM Modi cares about it. He puts the nation first and they (INDIA Alliance) put family first. This 'family first' policy parties have two pillars, Bhrashtachar and Parivar and apart from that they have no other priorities," he added.
Questioning the move to promote Udhayanidhi Stalin, he asked whether this decision was taken because of his comments against Sanatana dharma.
"The question is why is Udhayanidhi Stalin being promoted? Because of his statements on the elimination of Sanatana or because he compared Sanatana to a disease? Rahul Gandhi has to answer because he is also part of this DMK Congress alliance," he said.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that within the DMK, there is no merit except being the Chief Minister's son.
"This is the Parivarvad which PM Modi speaks about. MK Stalin promoted and made his son Udhayanidhi Stalin the Dy CM. There is no merit except being the CM's son. Similarly Sonia Gandhi will promote her son Rahul Gandhi. There is no merit except being the CM's son. All of them are only focused on family interests, not the interests of the country. This is why they were rejected as an alliance," he added.
He claimed that while INDI alliance is focusing on looting the people, PM Modi has encouraged younger people to enter politics.
"On one hand, the PM spoke on the Red Fort and gave a call that 1000 youngsters without any experience or family background in politics should enter politics to serve the country. On the other hand, you have INDI alliance which is only focusing on looting for their own family and promoting their own family," he said while speaking to ANI.
Earlier, BJP leader N Ramchander Rao called the Tamil Nadu Dy CM as "Stalin's legal heir in the politics of Tamil Nadu", that the party has put family interest above nation's interest.
"Stalin's legal heir in the politics of Tamil Nadu is now being sworn as the Deputy CM of Tamil Nadu. Though it is an internal affair of the party they can do it since they have the majority. It is very clear that these families have more family interest than national interest and people's interest. What they are doing is not people's welfare but family's welfare. This is the classic example of family rule for which the entire INDI alliance is part of it," he said while speaking to ANI.
Udhayanidhi Stalin was elevated as the Deputy chief minister on Saturday. Earlier he was serving as the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development. He will also take on the portfolio of Planning and Development in addition to his existing responsibilities. (ANI)
