New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia informed on Monday that a detailed discussion was undertaken with the three advisory groups that have been set up by the Ministry of Communications in order to make India "aatmanirbhar" and "world leader" in the communication space."
The three advisory groups are the satellite advisory group, the telecom equipment advisory group, and the telecom electronic advisory group.
He said that these advisory groups are essential groups in the communication ecosystem of India.
Addressing media persons, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, "A detailed discussion was done with the three of the advisory groups that have been set up by the Ministry of Communications. We have done a deep dive into the issues related to each one of these verticals. How is it that we can grow in independent verticals? What are the issues that we need to deliver on? Today we have a detailed discussion on it."
Highlighting the details about the next meeting, Scindia stated, "Our next meeting is scheduled, the date depends on the preparation, in which we will go into a deep discussion of the initial two advisory groups (satellite advisory group & the telecom equipment advisory group) where we will delineate three aspects - Today where is India placed in that vertical? Where is it that we would like India to be placed in that vertical?"
Adding to it, he asserted, "If we agree on the plan, then what are the drivers we need to have in place to be able to deliver on that strategy, and from the drivers what are the actionable points both for the ministry as well as for the industry to be able to deliver on. These advisory groups have been formed with a very participatory environment where we are all team players towards a common goal - to make India "aatmanirbhar" and world leader in communication space, as espoused and envisioned by PM Modi..."
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia met three committees comprising satellite communications and telecom gear makers to prepare a roadmap for achieving self-reliance and global leadership in the sector.
Earlier on Friday, Union Minister for the Development of the North East Region Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the North East Region Agri Commodity E-Connect (NERACE) designed to benefit the farmers of the region and help position it as a hub of high-value horticultural products in the international market.
The NERACE app is intended to support agricultural and horticultural products such as spices, fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, and minor forest products.
Furthermore, the NE-RACE App is designed to promote Northeast as a reliable partner in the international agricultural value chain. (ANI)
