Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 19 (ANI): Union Minister of State and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday reacted to the Telangana Budget and said that after review, it has turned out to be a disappointment.
Bandi Sanjay said that there is no correlation between the previous budget allocations and actual expenditures.
"Despite this, increasing budget allocations and using them as a tool to deceive the people of Telangana is shameful. Moreover, the Congress government seems to follow the adage that a lie repeated ten times becomes the truth. This budget is completely disconnected from the promises made in the election manifesto. The six guarantees have been utterly ignored. Congress leaders, who once described their manifesto as a sacred document before the elections, have now reduced it to a mere scrap of paper, as evident from this budget," he said.
"Analyzing the budget reveals a pattern of falsehoods, numerical manipulation, and an abandonment of the six guarantees. The government boasts about the per capita income of Telangana increasing significantly, but it fails to provide details on the state's debt burden. It would have been more appropriate to disclose how much debt has been imposed on each citizen, including unborn children," Bandi Sanjay added.
The BJP leader further highlighted that the party, which promised to provide Rs 2,500 per month to women, one tola of gold, and scooters, did not allocate a single rupee for these in the previous budget.
"This time as well, there is no mention of these promises, which is disgraceful. No allocations have been made for the recruitment of two lakh jobs or the monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000. The budget also lacks any mention of educational assistance or increasing pensions for senior citizens. This budget serves as a mirror reflecting the Congress government's regressive governance. Out of the 420 promises made in the Congress manifesto, it seems that even 10 per cent may not be implemented," Bandi Sanjay said.
He mentioned further that the healthcare sector has suffered immensely in the past year with Hospitals struggling to provide medicines.
"The budget has imposed severe cuts on weavers, and there is no mention of welfare measures for auto drivers. While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government has introduced health insurance for gig workers employed with platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, and Amazon, the Telangana Congress government, despite promising to set up a Gig Workers' Welfare Board, has completely ignored this in the budget. The state government employees have been entirely overlooked, with no mention of pending DA arrears, unresolved issues, or PRC revisions," he said.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday tabled the 2025-26 state budget in the ongoing assembly session, saying that the state government was focusing on advancement in technology, transport, infrastructure, and environment conservation. (ANI)
