Demonetisation has affected poor, daily-wage labourers the most: Capt Amarinder
Abohar (Punjab) [India], Nov. 13 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack at the Centre, Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday alleged that this radical decision of demonetisation has hit crores of daily-wage labourers and poor, who do not have bank accounts, the hardest. Addressing a rally in Abohar, he said whenever you have to introduce a new scheme, you cannot stop something, as it would cause a lot of inconvenience to the poor. Alleging that the PM informed his friends before hand, Singh said, "This news was published in newspapers of Gujarat one month ago as all big industrialists are from there. They have already deposited their money in banks. In the process, who got affected? The poor, who is sitting outside banks." "Didn't Modi know that there are crores of people, who do not have bank accounts, who work on daily wage and keep money in their homes, what will happen to them? There are 12, 700 villages in Punjab and most of them are daily-wage labourers. What will happen to them? This was the duty of Modi to think about them," he added. Singh further said though this move is important to improve the economic status of the country, people, who should have been nabbed, who have hoarded blackmoney, were already informed before. Ever since the PM announced to demonitise Rs 500, Rs 1,000 currency notes on November 8, the opposition has been launching attack on the Centre for not thinking about the poor.(ANI)
