New Delhi [India], March 2 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday that in the 27 years of the exile of the BJP, Delhi witnessed scam after scam in the previous governments of the Congress and the Aam Admi Party (AAP).
"This victory is the result of years of struggle... In the last 27 years of the BJP's exile, Delhi saw scam after scam either by the Congress or the AAP governments... They did scams, and we protested against them... We faced lathis and sticks for the people of Delhi..." chief minister Gupta said.
She also said that a lot of work has to be done in the National Capital.
Addressing the Purvanchal BJP Morcha Function at the Delhi BJP office, Gupta said, "We are able to celebrate this victory after a long struggle. I congratulate my brothers and sisters of Purvanchal... A new era has started in Delhi. There is a lot to do... We have to fulfil Prime Minister Naredra Modi's dream of making a Viksit Delhi..."
Earlier in the day, the chief minister, Delhi BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva and party MP Manoj Tiwari were felicitated at an event of the party.
On Friday the Delhi Chief Minister had slammed AAP for creating a ruckus over the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, stating that "all this drama is just an excuse."
The CAG report in question has flagged a Rs 2,000 crore loss due to the AAP government's liquor policy.
"All this drama is just an excuse because they could not listen to the facts written in the CAG reports... I will not let even a single penny of the state treasury go to waste...," she had said.
The BJP registered a massive victory in the recently held assembly elections, returning to power in the national capital after a gap of 27 years. (ANI)
