Delhi: Rape-murder accused sent to three-day police remand
New Delhi, Aug 1 (ANI): A Delhi Court on Monday ordered three-day police remand of accused, Danish, in connection with murder case of a 16-year-old girl in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area. The Delhi Police had yesterday arrested Danish (25) and his brother Ashu (23) in connection with the case. Danish was also booked for the gruesome murder of the 16-year-old girl and burning her body. The girl's partially burnt body was found from a second floor flat at Kailash Nagar of Gandhi Nagar area on July 28 by the police, which had reached there, following a report of fire at around 3:30 p.m. A case under Sections 76, 376 D, 328 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 6 and 12 of the POCSO Act was registered yesterday at the Gandhi Nagar Police Station. Danish knew the girl as they were both residents of the same locality. Further evidences were collected and sufficient evidence came on record to suggest that Danish had committed the gruesome murder of the minor girl as well. He tried to burn the body of the girl with kerosene to destroy the evidence. During investigation, it was revealed that accused Danish was asking for sexual favours from the deceased girl. (ANI)
