New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Delhi Police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a high profile car thief while he was delivering a stolen BMW at a five-star hotel in the city.

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Delhi Police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of a high profile car thief while he was delivering a stolen BMW at a five-star hotel in the city. The arrested car thief has been identified as Rahul and police said that their Anti-Author Theft Squad (AATS) had actually laid a trap for the former. A resident of Haryana's Hissar District, Rahul has at least 30 cases of car theft registered against him, and police said that he has been arrested on 28 previous occasions, which is a significantly high crime record. Police said that Rahul used a unique modus of operandi to carry out his car robberies successfully. He led a lavish lifestyle, had good looks and and wore expensive clothes to avoid suspicion by anyone of his victims. Police said that he usually carried out his car thefts during the early morning hours. In the case of the BMW car, Rahul entered the Noida house of the victim on the morning of July 19, but little did he know that he had been caught on CCTV. Police said they have recovered three cars from Rahul. They also revealed that Rahul has no male friends, but 15 girlfriends, most of whom work in call centers. (ANI)
