Delhi govt reviews air quality, stresses on enhanced vigil for anti-air pollution measures

New Delhi [India], Dec. 13 (ANI): Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain on Tuesday reviewed the ambient air quality position with scientists and engineers of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and senior officials of the Department of Environment.

Delhi govt reviews air quality, stresses on enhanced vigil for anti-air pollution measures
New Delhi [India], Dec. 13 (ANI): Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain on Tuesday reviewed the ambient air quality position with scientists and engineers of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and senior officials of the Department of Environment. The Minister reviewed implementation of the directions issued by different agencies and courts in recent past to curb air pollution. The concentration of different pollutants, especially particulates, their trend and their relation with the fog was discussed, said a statement issued here. The city average of concentration of particulate matter from November 1 to December was also discussed. DPCC officials informed that there is no significant increase in the particulate matter. Hussain stressed upon the need to enhance surveillance and vigil regarding anti-air pollution measures. The Minister further stressed that since night temperature is dipping, special emphasis needs to be given to control the garbage and biomass burning. (ANI)
