Delhi Court to hear Yasin Bhatkal's petition challenging solitary confinement in Tihar
New Delhi [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): The hearing over Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal's petition challenging his solitary confinement in a high security cell in Tihar jail, will continue in the Patiala House Court here today. Bhatkal, who has been sentenced to death along with four others for the twin blasts in Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar in 2013, has alleged that he can't be kept in a high security cell as per previous rulings by the Supreme Court. In the application moved by Bhatkal's counsel, it states that his solitary confinement would result in contempt of court. At least 17 people, including a pregnant woman, were killed and 131 were injured in the twin blasts in Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar area on February 21, 2013. Bhatkal was listed on the NIA Most Wanted until his arrest on the India-Nepal border in Bihar on August 28, 2013. Charges were framed against the five other accused Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, Yasin Bhatkal alias Mohammed Ahmed Siddibappa, Tahseen Akhtar alias Monu, Zia ur Rehman alias Waqas, Ajaz Shaikh and a Pakistani national.
