New Delhi [India], October 20 (ANI): Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Sunday for allegedly playing "dirty politics" over sensitive incidents, including the blast incident reported near a school in Rohini and other firing incidents.
"It is regrettable to see AAP leaders playing dirty politics over sensitive issues like the reported blast near a school in Rohini," Sachdeva said in a statement.
He praised the Delhi Police, noting its high crime detection rate and expressing confidence that it will soon solve the latest cases.
"Delhi Police has a high crime detection record and has solved almost all incidents of crime reported in recent past. Similarly, we are confident that Delhi Police will solve today's cases & nab the culprits at earliest and political parties should wait for Police statement," he said.
He also appealed to the police to further strengthen security in marketplaces ahead of the festive season.
An explosion rocked the Prashant Vihar area near Rohini on Sunday morning, damaging nearby vehicles and property. No injuries were reported, according to police.
In response, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi blamed the BJP-led central government for the law and order situation in the city.
She said that while the BJP is responsible for maintaining law and order, their track record suggests otherwise.
"The responsibility of law and order in Delhi lies with the BJP's central government. But the BJP, leaving this work, spends all its time in obstructing the work of the elected government of Delhi. This is the reason why the situation in Delhi today is like the Mumbai underworld era of the 1990s," Atishi said in a post on X.
"Bullets are being fired openly in the city, gangsters are extorting money and the morale of criminals is high. BJP has neither the intention to work nor the capability. If by mistake the people of Delhi give them the responsibility of the Delhi government, they will make the condition of schools, hospitals, electricity and water the same as the condition of law and order in Delhi today," she added.
