New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Monday said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh provided a clear update in the Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, detailing how the armed forces responded to the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
Majumdar said full details cannot always be shared in such cases, but the Defence Minister still gave a report to the nation.
Speaking to ANI, Sukanta Majumdar said, "Today, Rajnath Singh initiated this discussion in the Lok Sabha... Pure facts cannot be provided on such matters, but even so, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented a kind of 'audit report' before the entire nation, detailing how our armed forces played their roles... The whole country is proud of our armed forces."
He added that the operation is only paused, not over, and warned that any future move by Pakistan will get a strong reply.
"The most significant point is that the Defence Minister reiterated our Prime Minister's statement that Operation Sindoor has been paused, not concluded. This means that if Pakistan ever dares to act in this manner again, it will be responded to in the same way," he added.
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India successfully neutralised any attack by Pakistan, and that no important assets of the Indian armed forces were damaged during the hostilities between India and Pakistan after the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7 this year.
He further said that nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan were hit in precision strikes in which "over 100 terrorists, their trainers and handlers were targeted."
Initiating the discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' in Lok Sabha, the Defence Minister said, "I feel proud when I say this, that our defence systems, counter drone systems, and electronic equipment completely foiled Pakistan's attack. Pakistan could not hit any of the targets, and no important asset was damaged. Our security arrangements were quite vigorous. We stopped every attack. For this, I commend the brave Indian armed forces, who put water on every plan of the enemies."
Detailing the hostilities by Pakistan, the Union Minister said that on May 10, the neighbouring country targeted Indian Air Force bases and military establishments through electronic warfare too. (ANI)
