Defence expert condemns Bandipora attack, asks for more surgical strikes in Pakistan

New Delhi [India], Feb. 14 (ANI): In the aftermath of the encounter which ended in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday morning, Defence Expert Qamar Agha stressed on the importance of carrying out more surgical strikes in Pakistan, asking to further persuade the latter for a peaceful settlement. "Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan has occupied a part of it. And we want a peaceful settlement of the dispute, a peaceful transfer of this territory. Time has come. Pressure should now be mounted on Pakistan," Agha told ANI. Agha claimed that Pakistan is breaking the international norms, since this kind of 'proxy war' is deemed as unacceptable from a legal perspective. Agha added that it is time that India took a firm stand against this. "This has been going on for quite some time. If you look at the details, a number of army personnel have died in these encounters. These militants are coming from across the border and are trained, funded and sent across by Pakistan Military establishments. The Indian Government should hold these establishments responsible for these kinds of attacks," said Agha. On Tuesday morning, three army personnel were martyred in an encounter that took place in the Hajin area of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir. One LeT terrorist was killed and Indian Army officers recovered arms and ammunitions from the encounter site. (ANI)
