Defeat of 'hate politics' proved in final phase of UP, Manipur polls: Congress

New Delhi [India], March 8 (ANI): The Congress Party on Wednesday asserted that the final phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur has proved that the Indians politics stands for paradigms of development.

New Delhi [India], March 8 (ANI): The Congress Party on Wednesday asserted that the final phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur has proved that the Indians politics stands for paradigms of development. "These final phases of elections will once again prove that Indians politics only stands for paradigms of development, it stands for togetherness, and it stands for love and affection and for a democratic India marching onwards on a journey of progress and peace," Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told ANI here. Surjewala added that the final phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur have proved that the politics of hatred, politics of division is lost and politics of love and politics of brotherhood have won. Expressing confidence to win the assembly election with majority in Uttar Pradesh, another Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said in last six phases, the Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance has received tremendous support and further hoped that it remains the same in the last phase of elections as well. Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements with the deployment of central Para military forces have been made in both the state to ensure free and fair elections. A total of 40 constituencies spread over seven districts of eastern region of the state will go for voting under the last phase in Uttar Pradesh. Districts covered in this phase of polls are Ghazipur, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, Sonebhadra and Mirzapur. A total of 14,560 polling centers have been set up for over one crore 41 Lakhs electorates to cast their votes. A total of 535 candidates including 51 women are in the fray. Maximum 24 candidates are in contest from Varanasi Cant seat and minimum 6 are from Kerakat in Jaunpur district. (ANI)
