New Delhi [India], December 5 (ANI): After a word of war broke out between BJP leader Nishikant Dubey and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi in Lok Sabha, Congress MP KC Venugopal called it "unfortunate," and alleged that "defamatory words were used against the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi and the entire Congress party by Nishikant Dubey.
"Today a very unfortunate incident happened in Lok Sabha. The Congress leaders raised the issue of the travel ban of LoP to Sambhal. The speaker allowed Nishikant Dubey to speak in the zero hour. Defamatory words were used against the LoP, Wayanad MP and the entire Congress party...In the history of parliament, these kinds of derogatory remarks were never used. We are very pained," Venugopal told reporters outside Parliament premises.
"From Day 1, Rahul Gandhi stood against corruption, since that day the agents of Adani have started abusing Rahul Gandhi...We demand an apology from the member who used this kind of language. The Speaker should take the necessary action," he added.
Earlier, a war of words broke out between BJP leader Nishikant Dubey and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi after BJP alleged Congress' hand in 'attacks on national interest from abroad.'
Refering to the Mediapart report about the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project in the Lok Sabha, Dubey said that "Opposition makes constant attempts to derail the government."
"Section of opposition leaders make constant attempts to derail India's success story under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A report has been released by Mediapart in which they have said that there is an organisation OCCRP. OCCRP's job is how to shut down India's Parliament without letting it run. I want to just ask 10 questions. If OCCRP makes any report then the Congress party will immediately tweet to it. There are three issues, the first one is Pegasus on which Parliament at that time was unable to run properly. On July 18, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Sanjay Raut tweeted that and Parliament was derailed. Second was Hindenburg, coal and mines on which Jairam Ramesh, Sanjay Raut tweets and Parliament again was derailed. Thirdly the vaccine issue," Dubey said.
He further raised questions over some of Rahul Gandhi's meetings in the US, amid constant sloganeering by opposition members.
"I want to ask the Leader of the Opposition only 10 questions about your relation with Salil Shetty of the Open Society Foundation who participated in the Bharat Jodo Movement. Did he give money to the Bharat Jodo Movement? Rahul Gandhi went to America and met Mushfiqul Fazal, who is responsible for the genocide of Bangladesh. Rahul Gandhi met Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna, and Barbara Lee who opposed PM Modi's programme in the US. You (Rahul) met those who want to create Khalistan, who wants to separate Kashmir. What are your relations with them?" he added.
The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi to raise the issue of violence in Sambhal.
Gogoi tried to counter the allegations levelled by Dubey leading to uproar in the House and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is "lying."
"BJP is lying. They do not want Parliament to run. Rahul Gandhi only wants peace in this country. PM Modi ji ne jis traike se Manipur mai aag lagai vaise hi Sambhal mai aag lagana chahte hai. Rahul Gandhi was being stopped from visiting the Sambhal," Gogai said. (ANI)
