Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 19 (ANI): Independent candidate from Udhampur East, Pawan Khajuria, released his manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
Khajuria said that he has dedicated himself to the people and he will fight as an independent candidate, calling it a decision of the people.
"I am a common man, Pawan Khajuria but I have dedicated myself to the people. Today, the election is being fought in the name of Pawan Khajuria in the Udhampur East Assembly. The election is being fought as an independent candidate but this decision is of the people I feel that in this East Assembly, the people are fighting the election. Every mother, sister, elder and young friend is fighting the election who wants to fight against injustice. Today we all have come together and made this manifesto, which is about the Dalit community suffering somewhere in society, our OBC community suffering somewhere, our Muslim community suffering somewhere, and our government employees working in different departments here being ignored in some way or another. We have put all our demands on this manifesto and asked the government to pay attention to this and implement these ideas," he said.
Speaking further on the manifesto, he said there are a total of 11 demands to the government.
"We have placed their 11 demands strongly before and have mentioned them all in the manifesto. Apart from this, there are many other things too, which we assure you will get fulfilled from time to time as per their convenience in this society," he added.
Earlier, the Bhartiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir Unit had suspended Pawan Khajuria and two others for fighting the assembly election against the official candidate of the BJP.
"On the basis of the recommendation made by the Disciplinary Committee of the party headed by Sunil Sethi, has strongly recommended your suspension from membership of the party for an act of indicipline in fighting elections against the official candidate of the party. I in my capacity as State Working President of the Party hereby suspend you with immediate effect," read the order.
