Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), [India], Mar 9 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday accused his rival parties of 'conspiring' against the firm that helped develop ‘Sevamitra’ app for the TDP.
“It is a conspiracy. YS Jagan (YSRCP chief) and Vijayasai Reddy are the prime accused. K Chandrashekhar Rao is helping them. BJP is behind the conspiracy,” he said at a press conference organised here with regards to allegations of data theft.
“We collect data like phone numbers, with their consent. We are asking people about their opinion to select candidates. What is wrong in it? We share information in the public domain only to bring transparency and accountability,” he clarified.
Naidu further accused the KCR-led Telangana government of making ‘false allegations’.
“Who is Telangana government to ask me? Telangana government is making false allegations that the app has to pay 2000 crores. What for? In fact, the Telangana government itself has to pay more than Rs.5000 crores to the app,” the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister claimed.
Naidu also alleged that the TRS is sending its leaders to campaign for YSRCP, thereby suggesting that the two parties may have joined hands.
"TRS is sending its leaders to campaign for Jagan, and YSRCP candidates list is being prepared in Hyderabad. There are reports that some hundreds of crores are being pumped in by the TRS for the sake of YSRCP,” TDP chief alleged.
Naidu went on to accuse Jagan of playing a ‘chameleon’ kind of politics.
“They (rival parties) are shameless. They misused all the power in their hand. They misused and damaged all the constitutional institutions. There were instances of misuse of power but this is larger conspiracy than any earlier violations,” he added.
“The schedule for the entire conspiracy is written and the action plan is also attached to the request and given to the Election Commission. The bigger conspiracy is exposed. This has exceeded what is shown in Bahubali movies.”
The TDP chief had earlier said that he had demanded the Election Commission to initiate prosecution in the data theft case after a complaint was filed against TDP for allegedly using the people’s data illegally through ‘Sevamitra App’ to advance the party’s electoral prospects for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.  (ANI)
