CRPF organises football tournament for girls in Srinagar
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Dec. 5 (ANI): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a bid to promote women empowerment in Kashmir recently organised a football tournament for women at the Bakshi Stadium here. The tournament was also an attempt to bring peace and harmony to the otherwise restive state. Ten teams from different schools and colleges from Srinagar and nearby areas participated in this tournament. Despite cold weather, the young girls showed great enthusiasm for the sport and were happy to get a chance to display their talent. "We have been doing it under the civic action program. Earlier because of the situation here we were not able to do it so now we are starting it again. This is especially for the development of girls. We also try to offer other facilities from the Government of India to talented candidates," said Deputy Inspector General of the CRPF, K. K. Sharma. (ANI)
