CRPF jawan heckled: J-K Govt. makes arrests, launches probe

In 2019, Shah was arrested in a case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against him and other separatist leaders in 2017. The separatist leader has not been released from judicial custody ever since.

Earlier on Wednesday, the alert troops of White Knight Corps of the Indian army conducted a joint search Operation Sherikalan in Gen Area Poonch, and recovered approx 4 kg of explosives. They have been destroyed in situ.

In a video released by the Chief Minister's PRO, Sangma said he was at the NPP office in Tura and acknowledged the previous day's unrest, during which several locations, including the party office, were vandalised, attacked and set on fire by unidentified individuals. The man accused of attempting to assassinate Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Farooq Abdullah is currently being held at Gangyal Police Station in Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday arrived at the residence of his father, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, following an assassination attempt against him at a wedding in Jammu.

The 72 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a free medical camp on Thursday in Jamola, a remote hilly area of Rajouri. Jitendra Singh Yadav, the Commanding Officer of the 72 Battalion CRPF, stated, "This medical camp has been organised by the 72 Battalion. We have organised these camps in other places also, because this is a very remote area, and people might not get the proper medical facilities."

"Keeping the current prevailing situation in Garo Hills right now and keeping the sentiments of the people in mind, the government of Meghalaya has decided to postpone the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council elections. We will sit and decide on how to further take this procedure forward. But till then, the decision has been made to postpone the elections," Sangma said in a video message.
