Cross- LoC Poonch-Rawalakot bus service suspended
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 24 (ANI): In the wake of repeated ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the Cross-LoC bus service between Poonch and Rawalakot area was suspended on Monday. Due to border tension between two neighborurs, Pakistan did not open the gate at the Chakan da Bagh crossing point in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and had also not shown the white flag on LoC zero point. The Kashmir Valley is witnessing unprovoked ceasefire violation and indiscriminate firing from Pakistan side in past few months. Earlier on July 20, the Indian Army's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General A.K. Bhatt said that he had told his Pakistani counterpart to stop violating the cease-fire along the the LoC and the International Border (IB). Lieutenant General Bhatt strongly took up the issue of Pakistani troops "deliberately targeting" civilians and firing at school children along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir with the Pakistani counterpart. According to army spokesperson Col. Aman Anand, Lieutenant General Bhatt in a telephonic conversation asked his Pakistani counterpart Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza to exercise "strict control" over Pakistani troops and to instruct them to not indulge in any "nefarious activities."(ANI)
