Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 28 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that creating a new cadre of veterinarians is important for those professionals who play an important role in the medical care of wild animals.
Chairing the 16th meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Wildlife Board, the Chief Minister issued guidelines towards the conservation of animals and birds.
"Every year a large number of Siberian birds arrive in the state at a specific time. Ensuring their safety is a common responsibility of all of us. Any form of cruelty or inhumanity towards these birds or other animals is unacceptable. Strict actions will be taken against individuals involved in any such incidents," the CM said.
On creating a new cadre of veterinarians, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "Recognizing the critical role these professionals play, the creation of a cadre ensures timely promotions and additional benefits."
The CM also said that in view of the problem of increasing silt and floods in the rivers, dredging should be continued.
"This will reduce deforestation in villages and will also protect forests and wildlife. Income will also increase," he said.
"There should be helicopter services and four-lane road connectivity to ensure seamless transportation at eco-tourism places like Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary and Chuka of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve," he further added.
CM Yogi further said that special emphasis should be placed on fostering a tourism-friendly environment by training and employing local individuals as guides at these key tourist locations.
"Additionally, efforts should be made to establish quality accommodation arrangements for tourists," he said.
He also underlined that efforts being made to develop and conserve the Ganga's clean and continuous flow have resulted in an unprecedented increase in the number of dolphins.
"Similar initiatives should be undertaken to safeguard and enhance the well-being of dolphins and other species in rivers such as Ghaghra, Chambal, Saryu, Gerua, etc. Local villagers should be educated and encouraged to become 'dolphin friends,' and cooperation from the Government of India can be sought in this endeavour," Chief Minister said.
