New Delhi [India], October 3 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja on Thursday backed Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi's remarks on the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Rahul Gandhi, addressing the public rally in Haryana's Nuh, had accusing BJP and RSS of "spreading hate" and "destroying the Constitution."
Speaking to ANI, D Raja said, "It is the position Rahul Gandhi has been taking consistently and it is not his position alone, even CPI has been saying that BJP and RSS combined are pursuing disastrous policy, divisive politics, sectarian politics, it spreads hatred, it divides people and pit one section against the other."
The CPI leader further asserted that "the Constitution is under attack and the attack comes from BJP, RSS combined."
Earlier in the day, addressing a public rally at Nuh, Rahul Gandhi said, "BJP and RSS are destroying the Constitution. Congress is fighting an ideological war. On one side there is an ideology of destroying the Constitution; on the other side there is an ideology of the Constitution."
"BJP and RSS spread hate. We have to eradicate hate. The fight is between love and hate. The small parties who are contesting elections in Haryana are the A, B, C, and D teams of Haryana. Vote for the Congress party and remove the BJP from power," Gandhi said.
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge accused BJP of prioritising the RSS agenda over the welfare of citizens.
Addressing a public rally in Haryana earlier, Kharge said, "BJP doesn't understand farmers; they only know the RSS agenda. There are no farmers in the RSS or BJP, so they don't feel the farmers' pain and continue instilling fear in them. The BJP does not care about soldiers and farmers. That's why they don't understand the struggles of farmers... They only help Ambani-Adani, not the farmers."
Haryana goes to polls on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly to form its next government, with the counting set to take place on October 8. (ANI)
