Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], April 14 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh on Sunday said that continuous efforts are being made by the Bharatiya Janata Party to suppress the voices of the people through the misuse of central agencies.
"I will raise the voice of the interests of the state at the Centre. Such circumstances are being created that there will be no elections in the future. Continuous efforts are being made to suppress the voice by using ED, CBI, etc to destroy democracy. Those who raise their voice are being put in jail," Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh said at a public meeting in Shimla.
On Kangana Ranaut making allegations about Sukhu government misutilising the Centre's fund given for disaster relief purposes, Vikramaditya Singh said, "It is requested that before making allegations and counter-allegations, she should read his data properly...Kangana should understand its reality, understand its seriousness...First understand the things that if the money has come, if it has not come then where was it spent, if it has not come then why did it not come."
Vikramaditya Singh's rival candidate from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, BJP leader Kangana Ranaut, said that her campaign is going well in Mandi.
"We are doing our campaign. Candidates had to be announced. It's good that now it has been done. The whole team is feeling encouraged seeing the excitement of people," he said.
The polling for four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal, along with six Assembly seats that fell vacant following the disqualification of Congress MLAs, will be held on June 1.
The BJP won all four LS seats in 2019 and the counting will be done on June 4.
The Mandi constituency is considered a stronghold of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's family.
The seat is currently held by the late leader's wife, Pratibha Devi Singh. She was elected after a bye-election in 2021, after the death of BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma. (ANI)
