"Congress will form govt again in Rajasthan": Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda

"I think Congress will form the government again in Rajasthan. I went to Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and am sure that the people of these states will choose Congress. In Telangana also, I think that the Congress will come to power. I'm not sure about the fifth state, as I didn't go there," Hooda said while addressing a press conference.

Rohtak (Haryana) [India], November 25 (ANI): Former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda exuded confidence in winning the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, where polling for the 199-member assembly concluded on Saturday and said that the Congress will form the government again.
When asked about the impact of assembly elections on the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Congress leader said that the people of the country are not pleased with BJP's rule.
"The people of the country are not pleased with the BJP's rule and the other alternative they have is Congress. The grand old party will definitely come to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. We'll win both the assembly and Lok sabha polls," the Congress leader said.
Hitting out the Haryana government, Hooda said, "Haryana government is a non-performance government. People are not happy with the BJP government."
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on the polling day in the state said that he doesn't care what anyone says, but the Congress will once again form the government in the state.
Speaking to the media, CM Gehlot said "We have got the blessings of the people. Congress government will be formed again. I don't care who says what."
This comes after Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday hit out at Rajasthan Chief Minister saying that his government has "betrayed every section" of society and people have made up their minds to vote it out in the assembly polls to be held on Saturday.
The BJP leaders further said that Ashok Gehlot held similarly underestimated support for the saffron party in the 2013 assembly polls when the party won 163 seats.
Voting for the 199-member assembly constituency is currently underway in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan recorded 68.24 per cent polling for 199 assembly constituencies till 5 p.m., the Election Commission informed on Saturday.
Adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful and fair elections, as per a poll official.
The counting of votes will be taken up on December 3.
In 2018, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Gehlot assumed the CM position with the support of BSP MLAs and independents. (ANI)
