"Congress will get extinct like dinosaurs in few years": Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Champawat (Uttarakhand) [India], April 12 (ANI): Launching an attack on the Congress party, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, said that the Congress will extinct like dinosaurs in a few years.
"Congress is getting vanished. These children must have heard of dinosaurs, have you? Have you seen dinosaurs? In a way, dinosaurs have completely disappeared from the earth, similarly, Congress is also disappearing," Singh asserted while addressing the public rally in Champawat.
Addressing a public rally in Champawat in support of BJP's Almora candidate Ajay Tamta, Singh took a jibe at the Congress party and its previous governance in the country and compared it with the current state of affairs in the hilly region under the BJP regime.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Singh said, "Previously, the Congress referred to border area villages as India's 'end villages', but our Prime Minister has stated that these villages are actually the 'first villages' of the country. Consequently, the PM emphasized the importance of prioritizing development in these areas, and indeed, there has been significant progress in the development of these villages."
He also said that former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat said that the party is slacked off and is no longer capable of climbing mountains.
"Even Congress leader Harish Rawat said that the party is slacked off...I can say one thing, the Congress party is no longer capable of climbing mountains...I am here to appeal to everyone to make us win again," said the Defence Minister.
Rawat earlier gave a word advice to the grand old party to "rediscover the hunger for power" ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He also voiced concern over BJP workers filling the "vacuum" left by the Congress party at all stages.
Garnering votes for BJP candidate Ajay Tamta, Singh praised his humble demeanour.
"Ajay Tamta is a very composed and simple personality. When he speaks in the parliament too, he speaks with grace. He consistently maintains composure without displaying anger, a trait he attributes to the legacy of grace inherited from Uttarakhand," Singh said.
Earlier, in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated on Thursday in the Vijay Sankalp rally organised by BJP Uttarakhand at IDPL ground in Rishikesh.
PM Modi said that such a large number of people have come to Rishikesh, the gateway to the four Dhams, situated in the vicinity of Mother Ganga, to bless us. He said that whenever he comes to Uttarakhand, he also refreshes old memories with his family.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted initiatives undertaken by the Modi government to make the country "stronger in the last ten years."
"When there has been a weak and unstable government in the country, the enemies have taken advantage. Terrorism spread its roots in India under weak and unstable governments. Today, there is a strong Modi government in India, so terrorists are killed by entering their homes, the Indian Tricolour becomes a guarantee of security even on the battlefield, Article 370 is abolished in Jammu and Kashmir, a law is made against triple talaq, women are given reservation in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha, 10 per cent reservation is also given to the poor of the general category," he said.

Uttarakhand has five Lok Sabha seats and the state will go to the polls in a single phase on April 19.

The BJP is looking to sweep yet again in all five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand, having won from all the parliamentary constituencies in the State in both the 2014 and 2019 general elections. (ANI)
