Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday took a potshot at the Congress party for making an alliance with National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Assembly elections saying the grand old party wanted to create anarchy in the country.
The Congress party and the National Conference announced a tie-up for all 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and said that "they have reached a consensus on most of the seats."
Reacting to the alliance, CM Yadav said, "This alliance signifies whether the Congress supports the promise of a separate flag as per the manifesto of National Conference? Does Congress want to bring back Article 370 and 35A in Kashmir? It is very unfortunate to say that Congress wants to create anarchy in the country by associating with the National Conference just for vote bank. They want to talk to Pakistan again."
"I hope that the Congress should remember all those things which have killed more than 40,000 people in Kashmir so far. Kashmir has reached a new phase of development today, it wants to walk hand in hand with the whole country, but Congress wants to end the reservation of Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals and Paharis only because of vote bank politics," CM said.
"Does Congress want 'Shankaracharya Parvat' to be known as 'Takht-e-Sulaiman' and 'Hari Parvat' as 'Koh-i-Maran'? Does Congress want to put Baba Amarnath Yatra in trouble again? Because these were the reasons due to which unrest continued in Kashmir. I hope that Congress should answer these things," CM Yadav asked.
He further alleged that Congress had kept Jammu and Kashmir separated for a long time, and the National Conference played a big role in it.
"I hope that in the changing times of Kashmir today, Congress is again joining hands with those anarchist elements, for which Rahul Gandhi should answer. I hope that parties may have their limits in electoral politics but Congress should think about national issues. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge should give it a second thought why he had to stand with the National Conference? The public wants to know," he added. (ANI)
