Congress used various agencies for its benefit, cover ups: BJP
New Delhi [India], Dec. 17 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Siddharth Nath Singh on Saturday said the Congress used various agencies for its own benefits and cover ups. "If a proper investigation is being done then how can the Congress call it a diversionary tactic. Congress needs to answer the facts of the case, it doesn't need to question the timing. The law will take its own course and for that, the Congress doesn't need to preach, because we all know they have used various agencies in the past for its own benefits and cover ups," he told ANI. Singh's statement came day after the Haryana government transferred the investigation of the AJL scam to the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) "It was case of 1982 and subsequently in 2005 it was re-alloted by the Hooda government to the AJL throwing all bylaws. The case has been opened up and the legal process is on We must understand that the CBI has been brought in because the AJL is not only in Haryana , it is spread all over India, the cases are all over India, so the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) needs to work on it," Singh added. The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had on Friday confirmed that the case into the re-allotment of an institutional plot to AJL, the company that owns National Herald, has been given to the CBI for a "complete and in-depth probe." This is the third case against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in which a CBI probe has been recommended. In 2005, Hooda-led Congress government had re-allotted the plot in Panchkula to AJL allegedly in violation of rules. The plot was first allotted to AJL in 1982. CM Hooda, allotted the 3,360 square metre plot at the old rate of Rs 59 lakh less than the current market price of the plot which is Rs 22 crore. Hooda and the officers had allegedly recommended the re-allotment of the plot to AJL in violation of rules and bylaws. Hooda, has however, been claiming that everything was done in accordance to the rules. According to Hooda, the government can give directions to Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). In May, CBI had registered a case against Hooda for alleged irregularities in allocation of industrial plots at Panchkula. (ANI)
