Congress trying to defame me: says BJP candidate from Dadri Sunil Sangwan

Sunil Sangwan, the BJP candidate from Dadri Assembly seat and Ex-Jailer in whose tenure Ram Rahim got parole 6 times, said that the Congress was trying to defame him and the defeat of the Congress from Dadri was confirmed.

Charkhi Dadri (Haryana) [India], September 6 (ANI): Sunil Sangwan, the BJP candidate from Dadri Assembly seat and Ex-Jailer in whose tenure Ram Rahim got parole 6 times, said that the Congress was trying to defame him and the defeat of the Congress from Dadri was confirmed.
Sunil Sangwan said, "My family has been associated with BJP for the past thirty years. From the moment, my candidature was announced the Congress party felt that they would lose from the Dadri assembly constituency. I have rejected Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's parole twice in 2019. In 2020 I rejected his parole. I have never recommended his parole."
He said that the 6 parole was given by the recommending authority.
"Our job is to forward the letter to the Divisional Commissioner as he is the decision-making authority," he added.
Sunil Sangwan was the Jail superintendent for 5 years at the Rohtak Jail and took VRS to fight the polls.
Ram Rahim, who is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two of his disciples, is currently lodged in Sunaria jail in Rohtak, Haryana.
Polling in Haryana will be held on October 5. Votes will be counted on October 8.
Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming Haryana Assembly election, Olympian wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat joined the Congress in a big boost to the party.Punia and Phogat joined the party in the presence of ith Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, party leader Pawan Khera, Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan and AICC in-charge of Haryana, Deepak Babaria.
After being inducted Vinesh Phogat said, "The fight is continuing, it hasn't ended yet. It's in Court. We will win that fight as well... With the new platform that we are getting today, we will work for the service of the nation. The way we played our game with heart, we will give our best to work for our people. I want to tell my sisters, that I am with them. If there will be no one for you, I will be there, Congress party will be there. I have felt this, and I can assure you that we will be there for sure."
"I thank Congress party...Kehte hain na ki bure time mein pata lagta hai ki apna kaun hai...When we were being dragged on the road, all parties except BJP were with us. I feel proud that I have joined a party which stands with women and is ready to fight from sadak to sansad, " she added. (ANI)
