Congress to bring adjournment motion on farmers' loan waiver
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): Congress will on Tuesday bring adjournment motion in Maharashtra Assembly on farmers' loan waiver and other issues related to farmers. Earlier, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) wrote to state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis demanding to announce loan waiver for farmers in the state. The Congress' demand came on lines of the promise being made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the poll bound Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Earlier, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the latter has not committed to waive farmers' loans. "The Prime Minister accepted that the situation of farmers is critical, But he did not say anything about waiving off their loans, he only heard the matter," said Rahul. (ANI)
