Congress terms government's demonitisation move immature

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Nov. 15 (ANI): Terming the Centre's demonitisation decision as the most immature one in the last two-and-a-half years, the Congress party on Tuesday said it has stopped growth and development and made the lives of people difficult. "This government has realised that it has committed a mistake in taking a decision too early, without any preparedness and that was the reason that they first gave three days to exchange notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000, then increased it to three days again, and after this, for 10 days," Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told ANI. "This means that their first step was wrong as they their calculations went wrong. The second thing that they thought, and which has also been proved wrong, and now they have accepted, is the fact that this first step was taken without any preparedness," he added. Tiwari said that in the coming weeks, daily earners will suffer from starvation and it would be difficult for the common man to live. He said, "The common man is worried, as the marriages are getting stopped, after death, funerals are not being held and people are not being able to get their diseases treated." He suggested that some relief should be extended to the farmers for the buying of seeds and manure for the harvesting of the Kharif crop and for sowing of Rabi crop seeds. The nation would have to pay a huge price if this was not done, he warned. (ANI)
