Congress' Shakeel Ahmad to contest independently from Madhubani

New Delhi (India), Apr 15 (ANI): Shakeel Ahmed, Congress leader and senior spokesperson of the party has resigned from his post to contest independently from the Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency from Bihar.

New Delhi (India), Apr 15 (ANI):  Shakeel Ahmed, Congress leader and senior spokesperson of the party has resigned from his post to contest independently from the Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency from Bihar.
"As I have decided to file my nomination papers tomorrow from Madhubani Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar, I am resigning from the post of Senior Spokesperson of AICC. I am sending my resignation to Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi," Ahmad said in a post on twitter.



Ahmad was reportedly unhappy after his traditional Madhubani seat went to ally VIP of Bihar Grand Alliance as per the seat sharing agreement.
As per the seat sharing formula of the Grand Alliance, the Congress is contesting nine of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, the RJD on 19 and remaining seats have been given to allies RLSP, HAM and VIP.
Bihar voted for its four Parliamentary constituencies on April 11. It will witness polls on April 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12 and 19 for the remaining out of its 40 parliamentary seats. (ANI)
