New Delhi [India], October 5 (ANI): Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday remained hopeful for a favourable outcome for the party in the Haryana Assembly Election.
Sachin Pilot said that the public is 'inclined' toward transformation. He also criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while speaking about farmers.
"...As far as Congress is concerned, I am hopeful. The people are liking our campaigns, manifesto and guarantees...We are clear about our 7 guarantees and what we are providing to the people. We abide by our words...In the last 10 years, the public has seen the performance of BJP. Now, everyone is inclined towards transformation...We are getting positive feedback, so I am hopeful that we will form the government (in Haryana)." Pilot said.
"The farmers have been disappointed for the last 10 years. BJP promised to double the income of farmers. Despite that, the farmers are living in a bad condition today. As soon as we form the government in Haryana, we will prioritise the issues of farmers. The farmers have hope from the Congress party," Pilot added.
Haryana has recorded 61 percent of voter turnout till 5 pm across all the 90 assembly seats in the single-phase assembly polls in the state.
Earlier in the day, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that good work has been done in Haryana in the last 10 years and no one takes what the Congress says seriously.
"In the last 10 years, good work has been done in Haryana with the blessings of PM Modi. No one takes seriously what Congress says. For 70 years, they have made false promises. They can win a few elections here and there but will not come to power. The words of Rahul Gandhi are so objectionable that it saddens us, he can criticise us but he shouldn't say things which harm the nation," Rijiju said while talking to reporters in the national capital amid voting in the neighbouring state.
The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP won 40 of the 90 seats, forming a coalition government with the JJP, which won 10 seats. The Congress secured 31 seats. However, JJP later broke out of the coalition. (ANI)
