Congress questions freedom of speech in PM Modi's 'Mann ki Baat'
New Delhi [India], Mar. 26 (ANI): Hitting back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress on Sunday questioned as to why the young citizens of the country are arrested for executing freedom of speech online or on social media like Facebook. "I want to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi that why are the young citizens of our country arrested for executing freedom of speech online or on social media like Facebook," Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury told ANI. Chowdhury said, "Why are citizens of the country struggling for another freedom which was conferred by the forefathers of the Constitution." The Congress leader also questioned the after effects of demonetisation in the country, especially in the rural areas. She asserted that most of the rural and backward society of the nation are not familiar with the swipe cards and do not know how to operate it. "Most of the times they are been misguided while asking for help in operating such cards," she said. The Congress firebrand throwing light over the issue of demonetisation said that rural people cannot withdraw money as the ATMs run out of cash. Chowdhury alleged that the head of a village panchayat was misguided by a petrol pump staff who overdrew money of Rs. 18,000 over a bill of Rs. 150 from his account using his swipe card as the panchayat head was unfamiliar with the swiping card.
