Karauli (Rajasthan) [India], April 11 (ANI): Lashing out at the Congress party over "appeasement for vote bank", Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the grand old party of making objectionable comments against Ram Mandir and boycotting the Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya.
Slamming the INDIA bloc, he said that irrespective of what the Opposition party does, the "corrupt" will have to go to jail.
Addressing a public meeting in Karauli, PM Modi said, "Congress which ruled the country for 60 years has a long list of sins...But there is one sin they committed that cannot be pardoned. The sin is mocking the identity and dignity of Rajasthan. They played the dirty game of appeasement for vote banks."
He further said that the Congress party "demolished" temples for "appeasement" and stone pelting took place in Rajasthan under Congress rule.
"On this land, Congress tore down temples and acquired the land. Stones were pelted on Ram Navami processions. While Rajasthan sent stones for the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya being built after 500 years of wait, the leaders of the Congress party made indecent remarks against the Ram Temple," the Prime Minister said.
"They boycotted Ram Lalla's Pran Pratishtha. An ally party in the INDI Alliance, talks of destroying the Sanatana, and the Congress is standing as their mute supporters. Is this sin forgivable? Shouldn't they be punished?" he added.
Lashing out at the INDIA bloc over corruption, Prime Minister Modi said that strict action is being taken against corruption and the corrupt will have to go to jail.
"Strict action is being taken against corruption all over the country. The people of INDI Alliance are getting together against Modi. On one hand, there is Modi who calls to remove corruption, and on the other hand, it is them who want to save the corrupt... No matter how many threats are given to Modi, the corrupt have to go to jail. This is Modi's guarantee," he further said.
Highlighting the welfare schemes carried out by the central government, PM Modi said that these things should have been done much earlier but weren't paid heed due to the Congress party's "arrogance".
"We have helped crores of women with Ujjawala Scheme. Now, we are working to create 3 crore Lakhpati Didis. All these works that I have mentioned, shouldn't have been done earlier, right after independence. I am working for even these things. The lives of our Dalits and tribals were full of struggle because of Congress' arrogance," the Prime Minister further said.
"The son of a poor person is a 'Pradhan Sevak' for the last 10 years, the poor are getting relief from various problems...Every moment of life is dedicated to making 'Viksit Bharat'. 'Pal pal app ke naam', 'Har pal desh ke naam', and '24/7 for 2047'," he added.
Emphasising that Rajasthan is a huge producer of 'Shree Anna' (millets), the Prime Minister highlighted that the millets are being recognised globally today. He also recalled that the state banquet in the White House during his state visit included meals made by millets.
"Rajasthan is much ahead in producing 'Shree Anna' like jowar, bajra...Earlier, no one paid heed to the farmers producing 'coarse grain'. We carried out the Millet Mission and showed the world that our millets are 'super food'. Today, it is recognised as 'Shree Anna' and its demand is rising globally," PM Modi said.
"Last year, in White House, US President (Joe Biden) had invited me. A huge banquet was organised, which had an all-vegetarian menu, and even included our coarse grain," he added.
Rajasthan sends 25 MPs to the Lok Sabha. The polling will be held in two phases on April 19 and 26. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
BJP had won all 25 seats in the state in 2014. In 2019 also, the BJP-led alliance won all 25 seats with BJP winning 24. (ANI)
