"Congress people should tell the truth," says UP Dy CM Brajesh Pathak on Congress worker's death

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 19 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak on Thursday, responded to Congress' allegations that UP Police were responsible for the death of a Congress worker.
The Deputy Chief Minister criticized the Congress party for their behaviour and stated that he spoke with a relative of the deceased and confirmed that the person was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
He assured that the post-mortem report will reveal the truth, and the details will be shared once the report is out.
"The Congress people should focus on their behaviour. They should present the truth in front of the people. I have talked to a relative of the deceased...When the deceased was brought to the hospital, he was declared dead. Congress party should tell how they misguide the youth and take them to office. The post-mortem has been done. We will tell you everything once the reports come..," he said.
Earlier on Thursday, Lucknow Police reached the Congress office over the death of a Congress worker during a protest.
Raveena Tyagi, DCP Central, said "Yesterday a case was registered at a PS regarding the death of Prabhat Pandey. The cybercrime team and the digital forensic team are here and they will investigate the matter and the spot of the incident."
Earlier on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai alleged that the state government and police officials were responsible for the death of a Congress worker who lost his life during the party's protest near the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
He demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the victim and a government job for one of the kin of the deceased.
Earlier, in a press conference, Ajay Rai said, "The Congress has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for Prabhat Pandey and we demand a compensation of Rs 1 crore from the state government for killing the worker and a government job for one of the family member of the deceased."
"A very sad incident happened we had decided to do 'gherao' of the state Assembly. But when we left from here (Congress state headquarters) for the Assembly, barricades and barbed wires were installed to stop us. During the protest, one of our workers, Prabhat Pandey died as the police beat him," he further said.
He also demanded action against the police officers responsible for the alleged attacks on the Congress workers. (ANI)
