Rangareddy (Telangana) [India], April 6 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections is the voice of the people of India, and it has been prepared after listening to the voices of millions of people.
Addressing the 'Jana Jatara Sabha' here today, Rahul Gandhi listed five guarantees (Nyay) that the party has promised in its manifesto.
"When we gave you guarantees, we called them the guarantees of the Congress Party but in reality, they were the guarantees of the people. When we talked about Rs 500 cylinder, 200 units of free electricity, Greh Lakshmi, and free bus travel, we heard the voice of the people and prepared these guarantees," He said.
"Today, everyone in Telangana knows that Congress is fulfilling the promises. There is the highest unemployment in the country in 40 years, but the Telangana Government has given government jobs to 30,000 people and at the same time 50,000 more people will get jobs. This manifesto is the voice of the people of India," he added.
Further, Rahul said that Congress listened to what was in the hearts of millions of people and we put it in the manifesto.
"The spirit of the manifesto is the five guarantees. First of all, every youth will get a job with a salary of Rs 1 lakh per year. We have made an apprenticeship law in which every youth in India will be guaranteed one-year apprenticeship. This will be applicable in the public sector, private, education and all sectors. Apart from this, more promises for the youth are in our manifesto," Rahul Gandhi said.
The Congress leader also highlighted that in 'Nari Nyay Law', they will put Rs 1 lakh in the bank account of a woman of every poor household in India, every year.
"This is a revolutionary step. This will change the face of the whole country. Just imagine, the Congress Party government is going to give at least Rs 1 lakh directly to the bank account of the poorest families in India. This means that there will not be a single-family in India whose income will not be Rs 1 lakh per year," he said.
In its third guarantee, Rahul Gandhi said that their government, if elected, will waive off the loans of the farmers and will also give MSP according to the Swaminathan's formula.
"The Modi government has waived Rs 16,000 crore for the rich people but has not waived even a single rupee of the farmers. That is why, in 'Kisan Nyay', we will waive off the loans of the farmers and will guarantee the MSP as per the Swaminathan formula," he said.
"We will bring minimum wage for workers in labour justice. We will implement a minimum wage of Rs 400 per day for MGNREGA," he added.
Pointing out that the fifth guarantee will be historic, Rahul Gandhi promised that they will conduct a caste census across the country.
"The fifth guarantee will be the most historic. In India, 50 per cent of the population belongs to the backward class. 15 per cent of the population is Dalits, 8 per cent of the population is of tribals, 15 per cent of the population is of minorities and 5 per cent of the population is of poor general caste. There is no share of 90 per cent of people in India. We have promised that we will implement Caste Census in the entire country. This will let everyone know how much their participation is in the country. After this, we will conduct a financial and institutional survey and find out which class is in control of the country's wealth," Rahul said. (ANI)
