Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 13 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the country, BJP spokesperson NV Subhash lashed out at the Congress pointing out that they are "anti-Hindu and anti-country".
"We feel disturbed because of the Congress leaders. They don't dare to take the name of their country. They seek permits from leaders at higher levels in their party before doing so," said NV Subhash.
"How can they protect their country when they are ashamed to take the country's name?" he questioned.
He further lashed out at Rahul Gandhi saying that during an election campaign, he and his team claimed to be the saviours of the country. But at the same time, Congress MLAs in Karnataka have to get permission from Congress President Kharge before doing so.
"Bharat means our mother. No provision in the constitution prohibits us from taking our country's name. We have fundamental rights written by Ambedkar ji which gives us freedom of expression," says the BJP leader.
"The anti-Hindu and anti-country attitude of the Congress must be exposed thoroughly," says Subhash.
He expressed that everyone must hail Bharat mata. "People must not waste their votes on the Congress party," he appealed to the voters.
Notably, the 2024 Lok Sabha poll in Telangana's 17 seats will be contested in a single phase on May 13 with results declared by June 4.
In the previous 2019 general election, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 9 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 4 seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) obtained 3 seats. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won 1 seat. (ANI)
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19, with counting to be held on June 4. (ANI)
