Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 10 (ANI): Hailing the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over its manifesto for the Maharashtra assembly elections, senior Congress leader TS Singh Deo on Sunday said that it is a very good manifesto for the best interest of the people of Maharashtra and it will do overall development of the state.
"It is a very good manifesto for the best interest of the people of Maharashtra, its development, its socio-economic guarantees to the deprived sections of society...Overall development of Maharashtra with manufacturing, everything is there," said TS Singh Deo.
Lashing out at the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for criticising the MVA manifesto, the senior Congress leader said, "If development is appeasement, then sure, we would like to appease...Sadly, a person who is the Home Minister of the country doesn't know that we are one nation, that we are all together. He seems to be so insecure for whatever reasons, that he feels that the country is in parts...Where is this 'alag' and 'batenge toh katenge'? They want to do that. They want to have sections so that they have some vote share or some vote bank somewhere. Congress has always been all-inclusive. We want to take everybody along..."
Earlier in the day, while addressing a public rally in Maharashtra's Buldhana, Amit Shah said, "...Maha Vikas Aghadi has given a lot of guarantees. Rahul Gandhi was angry with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge because he spoke the truth and said that only those promises should be made which can be fulfilled. The Congress party did not fulfil the guarantees it gave in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. Maha Vikas Aghadi's guarantee is a guarantee of lies, corruption, appeasement..."
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with votes for all 288 constituencies to be counted on November 23.
The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), seeks to reclaim power in the state, challenging the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. (ANI)
