Congress is something I live and breathe, says Sandeep Dikshit
New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday described the party as a very important political vehicle for him and and an institution that he lives and breathes. Rejecting suggestions that he might be considering leaving the party, Dikshit said, "For me, the Congress is the most important political vehicle for restoration of a pluralist, liberal socialist democratic India, and for a person like me, there is nothing better than to work for its strengthening, and I am doing whatever little I can. It is my commitment, Congress is something I live and breathe and I have just tried to specify that. A senior journalist whom I respect had written an article in which she has mentioned that some people are thinking that I might leave Congress, so I just clarified my position." Dikshit who recently used his blog to target the Delhi unit of the Congress party for criticising his mother and former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, said, "Then, of course, there are some issues with regard to what I wanted to say. Please remember your honour and your own self respect, your own dignity is something you have to always maintain and I think that what I have said. Certain things were being churned up and people were talking about various things." He said that the Delhi unit of the party is running a systematic negative campaign against his mother and falsely implicating her in the 2010 CWG scam and alleged water tanker scam. (ANI)
