Karnal (Haryana) [India], October 1 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur on Tuesday hit out at Congress ahead of the Haryana elections in Karnal, saying that the party has decided to loot the people of Haryana if Congress comes to power.
He said that the Congress is going to set up a government of "kharchi parchi" which would loot the people of the State.
"First they will fill their houses, then of their relatives, Congress has decided that they are going to rob the people of Haryana. A Congress MLA said that for fifty votes they would give one job, I said that quota in jobs and a kharchi parchi ki dukaan chalne wale hai (They will set up a shop of corruption). Will the people of Haryana set up a kharchi parchi government? No they will not," he said while speaking to ANI.
Criticising the Himachal government, he said that even when people filled up the forms in the state, but instead of completing any promises Rahul Gandhi went abroad.
"These forms were filled after the elections in Himachal and were found in dustbins and all over the place. These are the same forms that Congress got filled and got power, but they did not fulfil any promise and instead, Rahul Gandhi went abroad. They promised to give 1500 to women, give 300 units of electricity, cow manure to be given at Rs 2 per kilo, to buy milk at Rs 100 per litre, to give free water, all of those promises have not been fulfilled. Forget the Old Pension Scheme, people are not getting their pensions till the 10th of the month, nor their salaries till 5th, they put a cess on electricity and increased the price of petrol and diesel.
Further criticising the forms filled in Haryana, he said, "Congress has looted people, and just like the forms they have made people fill in Haryana, it is the start of looting people here. People of Haryana should be beware. Just like in Himachal, they also had the forms filled in Karnataka and Telangana and did nothing till now."
He further alleged that the Army men from Haryana have died because Congress did not fulfil their promises
"For ten years the Army's soldiers kept asking for bullet proof jacket, Congress did not give them. Haryana's young soldiers were martyred but they did not do anything. The retired soldiers kept asking for One Rank One Pension but they did not do anything," the BJP MP said.
"The soldiers kept asking for fighter jets, latest weapons, snot suits and boots but they did not give those too. Congress ignored our soldiers and they got martyred. Since BJP has come to power we have given One Rank One Pension, bullet proof jacket, and gave weapons too. Because of Make in India, a company in Faridabad gave the bullet proof jackets by making them. We have strengthened our forces through Agnipath," he added.
Additionally, he said that during the tenure of Bhupinder Hooda, the government worked to snatch away the lands of farmers.
"When they had the government in Haryana, then Hooda ji snatched away the land of innocent farmers. There was a scandal of crores and they bought the land at whatever rate. Look at Karnataka, there is a scandal of the Chief Minister and his wife too. ED investigated in Karnataka and Hooda too," he said.
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting set to take place on October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, securing 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
